Scientific Societies Urge Congress to Finalize FY 2022 Appropriations

AIBS has joined 55 other scientific societies in a letter urging Congress to finalize fiscal year (FY) 2022 appropriations with robust funding for scientific research and development.

The societies urged lawmakers “to continue the push and finish the job to avoid a long-term continuing resolution (CR).”

“Our nation faces ongoing public health, environmental, economic and security challenges, and a long-term CR would harm the historically bipartisan prioritization of funding for research and development (R&D) agencies that play a critical role in addressing those challenges, as well as the ability for these agencies to properly plan for the future,” the groups argued.
