The Adelaide Smith MBA '11 Scholarship Fund will annually provide $1,500 in tuition support over 3-semesters to one eligible MCNY student who is returning to college after a decade or more away from an academic setting and pursuing a second career post-retirement.
Adelaide Smith was a visionary, faith-filled, and fearless entrepreneur. After raising two children in Southern California, she decided to move to New York to pursue her MBA at MCNY. Despite homelessness, financial insecurity and chronic heart disease, she graduated at 61 years young. In 2012, Adelaide passed away. Her mantra, “See beyond your circumstances by staying focused on your goals” lives on.
Adelaide’s children Ramona Wright and Voltaire Xodus have established this scholarship fund to honor her legacy and support students following in her footsteps.
