Oregon’s water shouldn’t be up for grabs. It’s time to close the stockwatering loophole in Oregon law that mega-dairies' have exploited. Factory Farm style of agriculture is touted as "efficient" because of loopholes like these that allow out-of-state corporations to not take the real cost of production into account.
Under Oregon law mega-dairies have unlimited access to Oregon’s water resources under a stockwatering exemption. The Oregon Water Resources Commission needs to close the loophole and restrict withdrawals from Oregon’s vulnerable aquifers for new mega-dairies like the proposed Easterday Farms.
Tell the Oregon Water Resources Commission - Close the “stockwatering exemption” loophole and protect Oregon’s water resources from mega-dairies.
We need to stop the abuse of Oregon’s water resources by mega-dairies and save our critical aquifers.
Act now in support of closing the stockwatering exemption loophole and curbing mega-dairies unlimited access to our water.
