Interreligious Capacity-Building Grants

Grant Opportunity

ICJS is offering Capacity-Building Grants to nonprofit and community leaders who have a project or initiative that helps an organization (or its staff or clients) to cross religious barriers to accomplish a project for the common good. These grants are intended to expand the capacity of participants to take the risk to initiate their idea. 

All alumni of the following ICJS fellowship cohorts are eligible to apply: Justice Leader Fellows (2020, 2021, or 2022–2023), Imagining Justice Fellows (2018), or Community Leaders Cohort (2016).

Guidelines

Important dates

  • Application deadline: November 22, 2023
  • Awards announced: December 11, 2023
  • Time period for use of funds: December 15, 2023–May 17, 2024

Award amount

$500 to $2,200 for reimbursable expenses 

Eligible expenses

  • Supplies or materials for program or event
  • Fees for training
  • Workshops or public events
  • Technology costs, e.g. podcasts, videography, software or digital apps
  • Note: salary of staff is not a permitted use

Application

Please complete a brief Google Form to apply for the grant. You will need the following information:

  • Project Title
  • Project description
  • Anticipated start date
  • Projection of how many people will benefit from the project
  • Project budget

We have been impressed with the positive impact our Justice Leader Fellows have had in their communities, and we see the potential for much more. These grants will act as a catalyst in building an interreligious community that will work for justice and equity.
