Banner Forest Walk & Talk: Lichens and Moss with John Foltz

April 29, 2022, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Artist, farrier, rock climber, naturalist, and passionate steward of the peninsula… In fact, there aren’t many skills we can think of that John Foltz hasn’t mastered yet. John is a Port Orchard resident who developed a love of Banner Forest from his close friend and GPC founding member Chuck McGuire who was instrumental in protecting the 636-acre park.

When he isn’t volunteering for GPC, John can be found volunteering as a steward, docent, and group lead for Kitsap County Parks, Washington State University Extension, Harbor Wildwatch, and the Mountaineers.

Join us to learn a little about the history of Banner Forest Heritage Park and A LOT about the lichens and moss that thrive there.

Event attendance is limited, sign up today!
