COVID-19 Operational Relief Grant Opportunity


The Department for Children and Families (DCF) announced today that a new grant program has been launched to help mitigate the operational expenses and losses following the COVID pandemic for child care and afterschool programs, summer day camps, Parent Child Centers and to support the expenses local Children’s Integrated Services agencies had of providing telehealth services.
 
In July, the state legislature allocated $12 million in federal Coronavirus Relief Funding from the CARES Act to help programs with COVID related expenses and losses. This funding is being awarded to programs through the Operational Relief Grant (ORG) program.
 
Applications for this program will be accepted through August 26th. Questions on the program will be accepted through August 14th. Notification of awards are anticipated by September 11th.
 

Child Care, summer camp and afterschool programs:

 
Child care, summer camp and afterschool programs can apply for income losses or expenses incurred or anticipated due to COVID-19. Information about what programs are eligible and additional information is available on the program’s website www.dcf.vermont.gov/covid19-relief-grants/cc-programs

Questions can also be submitted by emailing AHS.DCFOperationalReliefGrant@vermont.gov or calling 802-241-0151 and leaving a message with your question. Questions will be answered by posting the question and answer in the Frequently Asked Questions document.
 
It is important to read all materials prior to applying. Only one application will be accepted per program.
 
 

Parent Child Centers

 
Parent Child Centers can apply for income losses or expenses incurred or anticipated due to COVID-19. The application and information about eligibility is available on the program’s website www.dcf.vermont.gov/covid19-relief-grants/cis-pccs   
 
An informational session that outlines the application and process will be held on August 10th at 11:00 AM.  The link for the information session, and how to submit questions is available on the website. Questions will be answered on the Frequently Asked Questions document for Parent Child Centers.
 
 

Children’s Integrated Services Fiscal Agents

 
This grant opportunity is for Children’s Integrated Services (CIS) Fiscal Agents to apply for funding to cover costs associated with the provision of providing CIS services via telehealth. The application and information about eligibility is available on the program’s website www.dcf.vermont.gov/covid19-relief-grants/cis-pccs
