CIES 2023 Highlights

Anny Lin, Pierina Anton Lopez, and Stephanie Peña at CIES 2023.

Alongside coalition partners, GCE-US participated in the Comparative & International Education Society (CIES) Conference from 14-22 February.

Stephanie Peña, GCE-US Inclusive Education Coordinator, presented on benchmarks for disability inclusive education during the session, "National SDG 4 Benchmarks: A Formative Tool for Progress Towards 2023."

 

Education Cannot Wait High-Level Financing Conference

GCE-US and partners welcome the U.S. Government's continued commitment to students and teachers affected by crisis and conflict by pledging an additional $43 million to Education Cannot Wait (ECW) – the UN’s global fund for education in emergencies and protracted crises – at the February 2023 High-Level Financing Conference (HLFC) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Congressional Updates

Thank you to Senators Dick Durbin and Marco Rubio, and Representatives Chris Smith and Grace Meng for introducing bipartisan legislation to reauthorize the Reinforcing Education Accountability in Development (READ) Act of 2017 to equitably expand access to basic education for children around the globe! 

Please contact your Representatives and Senators today urging them to co-sponsor and support this important legislation and help children and youth around the world!
