Rio Texas MFSA: Letter Writing in Support of and in Solidarity with Refugees

Join Deaconess Cindy Andrade Johnson, a friend of Rio Texas MFSA, in Brownsville:

Refugees at migrant camp are filling out 1000 to 2000 postcards directed to Dr. Jill Biden, Vice President Biden and Sen. Harris to not forget them and change this inhumane policy.  Migrants are now asking friends for letters of support.  Letters of support can be sent to mc2dogs@sbcglobal.net

Here is a sample letter that Cindy provided online:

Dear Vice-President Biden, Dr Biden, and Senator Harris,

I am writing to support the end of MPP, the Migrant Protection Protocol. Last year, I visited the migrant camp in Matamoros and was heartbroken over the migrants' suffering caused by the MPP. In speaking with families they were confused as to why they were being treated inhumanely as they had done nothing wrong but to ask and seek asylum from their dangerous situation in their homelands.
We learned from the migrants and the charities that work with migrants how families and especially those with young children fear for their safety. All the migrants want is to be able raise their families in a safe place, not worry about gangs, rape, human trafficking and other violence being put upon them.

The migrants have the right to seek asylum in the United States and to be returned to Mexico or any other country is wrong. This is a humanitarian issue and there are many good people wanting the opportunity to be able to just live and breathe without fear.
Please consider ending MPP and allow these families to have a chance to state their cases in our immigration courts in a timely manner.
