CDD Deputy Commissioner Hiring Update

The Child Development Division recently shared a status update on the recruitment for the CDD Deputy Commissioner. In short, the recruitment process has been restarted in order to give the new Secretary, Mike Smith, an opportunity to be involved in the hiring process. The Agency of Human Services and Department for Children and Families will again publicly post the position for recruitment, and hope to have the position filled in the coming months.

Reminder: Advisory Council on Child Poverty and Strengthening Families Public Forum, This Thursday 11/21 in Rutland

The Vermont State Legislature’s Advisory Council on Child Poverty and Strengthening Families will hold a public forum at Rutland Middle School on Thursday, November 21 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm to gather public input on the biggest challenges facing Vermonters in poverty and solutions to lift Vermonters out of poverty. A meal and child care will be provided at no cost.

The BBF State Advisory Council brings together early childhood leaders and decision makers from across sectors to better coordinate and enhance services for young children. The Council identifies early childhood policy priorities each year and develops annual recommendations around these priorities.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
