2022 Trap Democracy Festival Table Member/Partner Registration Form
Hello, Alabama Forward members and partners! Please use this form to register your organization to participate in this year's regional Trap Democracy Festivals.

Trap Democracy Festivals are community events that fuse various aspects of Black culture with messaging about the importance of civic participation and having every person’s voice heard in the governing of our communities and country, especially those who don’t typically participate by voting in elections.

The events have a block party feel; each will feature a lineup of local artists providing music throughout the event, food trucks, and local small businesses and artists showcasing their artwork, products, and services in the vendor area. The events will also feature a Community Vision Board installation where attendees will be able to express their ideas and hopes for their communities and our country through writing, drawing, and magazine clippings.

Organizations involved in civic engagement work will also be featured at the event and be onsite to provide community members with information about the work they do, the resources and assistance they offer, how to get involved as a volunteer or join their staff team, and information about important issues and upcoming elections.

Trap Democracy Block Parties will take place at nontraditional venues for the typical civic engagement events - club parking lots, public housing communities, a street in front of a small business - and have a schedule that covers both daytime and evening hours in order to be convenient for the most diverse group of attendees.

Target Audience

In general, Shake the Field outreach efforts are designed to reach non-White Alabamians, ages 18-49, who are not currently plugged into civic engagement and/or political activities in their communities.

With Trap Democracy Block Party events, the Shake the Field team is specifically hoping to attract members of that group who identify as Black or having close personal ties to the Black community and one or more of the following subcultures: hip hop/rap, the arts (visual, writing/poetry, crafting/making, etc), fashion, music, and nightlife.

**Alabama Forward will provide a vendor space with a tent, 1 table, and 2 chairs for each participating organization.**
