Monday, October 30, 2023, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Join us for an Immigration 101 workshop on Black migrants in the US and St. Louis on Monday, October 30 from 7-8pm CST. Attendees can participate either in person or via zoom.
Black immigrants' experiences of the US immigration system are unique due to the anti-Black racism embedded in its policies and practices. Historically, US foreign policy has intervened and destabilized predominantly Black countries to push for its imperial agenda, while discriminating locally against the immigrants fleeing that same violence. Together, we will learn about these issues and history, listen to personal testimonies, and propose solutions and ways of practicing solidarity. Contact lauren@ifcla.net with questions.
