Imagine a Bay Area where all 8 million residents have a safe, stable, and affordable place to live . . .

This Affordable Housing Month, we’re inviting residents around the Bay Area to join us through Begins with Home, the neighbor-powered movement that is joining together to make the Bay Area a place where everyone has a safe place to call home, because the future of the Bay Area is up to us!

Together, as advocates and neighbors, renters and landlords, homeowners and people experiencing homelessness, we have the power to unlock a new future and build a Bay Area where we value everyone’s humanity, where we treat everyone with justice and dignity, and where everyone belongs.

Our future, our Bay Area, begins with home

Affordable Housing Month is our time to think big and imagine a bold future where everyone in our region has a safe place to call home.

It’s time to unite as neighbors to demand that every city, and every community, invest in proven solutions that match the scale of the challenge. Because when we do, we can build a future for the Bay Area rooted in justice, community, and possibility — and open the door to new possibilities for all of our lives.

Participating Organizations

The Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California (NPH) is proud to work with our regional partners and members around the Bay Area to celebrate Affordable Housing Month and lead conversations, events, and opportunities to engage.

Affordable Housing Month happens thanks to our partner United Way Bay Area, the county conveners who organize events all over the Bay Area, and the dozens of NPH members that, as part of the Strategic Communications Council, gather stories, share resources, and foster conversation.
