***Cancelled Due to Forest Closure*** Mammals of the Eastern Sierra at North Lake (Bishop) with Lindsay Butcher – 9/11/2021

September 11, 2021 from 8:30 am - 11:30 am

***This event has been cancelled due to the current National Forest Closure. For more info on the closure, see the press release here. For any questions about Friends of the Inyo events, e-mail alex@friendsoftheinyo.org.***

Join TA Lindsay Butcher to learn about the major players in the eastern sierra consumer-resource system and how the geography and history of the area has shaped the ecological community.

  • Where: North Lake (Bishop) (Meet at the Pack Station Parking lot).
  • When: start at 8:30, ends around 11:30 (roughly 3 hrs)
  • The Hike:  3 miles starting at 9,300′-to just under 10,000′
  • This is a 3-mile loop hike from the North Lake Pack Station parking to Grass lake and back. Although it is only 3 miles it is steep and strenuous at parts. We expect it to take about 3 hours, so bring plenty of water and snacks.

About Lindsay: Lindsay is returning this season as our lead Trail Ambassador. She joined the FOI team last spring and hasn’t gone running for the hills! Originally from San Diego, Lindsay grew up spending summers in the Sierra on family camping trips. After graduating from SDSU with a B.S. in Nutrition she dove into a career in enology and wine making. However, after working multiple vintages in California and Australia she discovered her hobby of rock climbing was becoming an obsession. So she ran away from real life to work and play in Yosemite National Park. She made the transition to the east side permanent two years ago and is excited to hit the trails once again, to be an ambassador for the land and trails she loves.
