As small businesses across the country continue to struggle with COVID-19 recovery, the need for flexibility and certainty is greater than ever. In May, Senators Hollen (D-MD), Merkley (D-OR), and Murphy (D-CT) introduced the Rebuilding Main Street Act, allowing employers to share payroll costs with the federal government and receive grants to help cover other fixed costs for safe reopening.
Additionally, the Small Farmers Act, legislation recently introduced by Senator Gillibrand (D-NY), is critical in addressing disruptions caused by the pandemic in the food supply chain between farms and food banks. This bill would ensure the well-deserved debt relief for the farmers who continue to feed us and bolster our local economies during the pandemic, and must be included in the next federal COVID relief package.
Please sign this letter or call your Representative to urge passage of both the Rebuilding Main Street Act and Small Farmers Act so that small businesses and farmers can have the means required to effectively respond to the crisis.
The following letter along with all of its signatories will be sent directly to Congress. Take action today!
