Enjoy an intimate dining experience in the romantic, rustic setting of a historic Franciscan mission. Unwind in the mission garden as Winemaker Norm Yost pours Goat Bubbles sparkling wine served with appetizers. A four-course meal prepared by Chef Clark Staub of Full of Life Flatbread will be served in the rich historic ambiance of the dining room seating 40 guests. An adjacent private dining room for 10-12 is also available. With advance notice, Chef Clark will accommodate dietary restrictions.

This will be our fifteenth annual Winemaker Dinner at the historic La Purísima Mission, located just a couple miles outside of Lompoc. Our event offers a unique culinary and wine experience in the context of historical appreciation. We also emphasize social responsibility, sustainability and diversity/inclusion with our partnerships.

Winemaker Norm Yost has been in the industry for over 40 years. He launched his own label, Flying Goat Cellars, in 2000. Yost became a Santa Barbara County pioneer by launching the first sparkling wine program, Goat Bubbles, in 2005. Yost is also know for handcrafting limited lots of single vineyard, award-winning Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris from the finest vineyards in the county.

Established in 2003,  Full of Life Flatbreadquickly became a "slow food" destination restaurant in Los Alamos, CA. Chef Clark Staub’s menus include a wide range of ever changing creative dishes using local, organic and sustainable ingredients, as well as foraged and wild foods. Staub’s personality is as colorful and innovative as his background in the music industry.

La Purísima Mission State Historic Park is the most completely restored mission in California. It offers a bucolic and relaxed setting for special events, surrounded by historic buildings. Our event is held at The Historic Mission Garden and La Sala. There is also an adjacent room, The Refectory, for a private party of 10-12 guests. Arrive early to visit The Main Church and The Padre’s Chapel.

The event beneficiary, Return to Freedom, is dedicated to preserving the freedom, diversity, and habitat of America’s wild horses and burros through sanctuary, education, advocacy, and conservation, while enriching the human spirit through direct experience with the natural world. Flying Goat produces a special label, Celebrate Freedom, with 40% of the sales going to RTF.

Another community partner, ExploreLompoc, is a great resource for local lodging and dining options, as well as other useful information about Lompoc Valley.

See draft menu below. Check out photos from the 2021 event here.
