TAKE ACTION: Tell the U.S. EPA to Finalize the Strongest Safeguards Possible to #CutMethane!
In November 2022, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released new draft rules to cut emissions from methane and other harmful pollutants caused by oil and gas operations across the country. This updated proposed rule builds upon the draft rule released by the U.S. EPA in 2021 and is an opportunity for the Biden administration to make progress on its climate commitments. It lays the groundwork to hold the oil and gas industry accountable for their promises to reduce methane pollution and address the climate crisis.
Methane pollution from the oil and gas sector is accelerating the pace of climate change and harming the health of our families and communities—and it’s a problem that’s only getting worse.
