On the Farm! Davis Farm Walk & Talk

Davis Family Farm bouquet

On July 24th, GPC members visited the Davis Family Farm for a tour of the working land and wildlife habitat. This Walk & Talk is the first of a three-part series funded by the Mason County Historic Preservation Commission which focuses on the unique historic and conservation features of spaces in the Puget Sound.

Farmer Ken VanBuskirk started the Walk & Talk with a brief overview of the history of the Davis Family. Arranged on a table were historical artifacts found on the farm, and photographs and writings of the Davis Family and farm for visitors to explore. Then, Ken led the group on a walk around the farm to explore the gardens, animal pens, fields, historic orchards, and Union River, which is a salmon supporting stream.

The pictures below were taken during the Walk & Talk, and represent just a few of the beautiful sights to behold on the farm.
