For generations, people have valued being a good neighbor, making sure others are safe, fed, and doing well.

Yet many of our neighbors don’t feel like they belong in the Bay, struggling to remain and prosper in our region due to rising housing costs and an insufficient supply of housing options.

This Affordable Housing Month, we’re inviting you to embrace the Bay Area as our neighborhood, because good neighboring impacts more than just you and me; it strengthens our entire community.

Join us in saying yes to proven, evidence-based solutions that can ensure that every person has a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home. Because every person in the Bay is our neighbor and they belong here with us. Our neighbors are the heart of our communities.

What Is Affordable Housing Month?

May is #AffordableHousingMonth! Each year, Affordable Housing Month brings the Bay together to grow public will and support for affordable housing and racial justice as well as educate our communities on affordable housing’s impact on us all.

This year, we’re inviting residents from across the region to embrace the Bay Area as our neighborhood. What would it look like to actively welcome all of our neighbors to live, work, play, and stay in our region? What would it take to create a space where everyone, no matter their background, is welcomed and valued? What would living in the Bay Area feel like if everyone saw you as their neighbor? Join the conversation this year! Attend an AHM regional event and/or weigh in online on Twitter with #AffordableHousingMonth:
