Using plain language can make information about housing and homelessness—and your nonprofit’s programs and services—easier to find, understand, and use. Join us to learn key concepts for communicating more clearly, especially when trying to reach people who are strapped for time, have low literacy skills, or are English language learners. We’ll examine samples from the housing and homelessness fields and review strategies related to audience needs, organization, layout, and wording that you can use to improve everyday or formal communications.
Brought in partnership with Melanie Sampson of the Clear Language Lab at Literacy Works. This training is recommended but not required before joining Designing Better Forms on April 8 and Supporting Clients with Diverse Digital Literacy Needs on May 6.
Registration: $20 for members, $30 for non-members
