Working together will emphasize national support for decarceration amid the global pandemic.

In September, The Sentencing Project will mark the 49th anniversary of the Attica Uprising by supporting release of life sentenced prisoners during the COVID-19 pandemic. The spread of COVID-19 inside prisons, where social distancing and other prevention measures are virtually impossible, has infected almost 100,000 people and many have suffered preventable deaths.

The more individuals and state groups that host actions the bigger our impact and the stronger we become. We want our communities inside and outside of prison to know that we ware fighting for their lives and are prepared to fight more.
