Join Metropolitan Congregations United, United Congregations of Metro East, and Sierra Club for the 2nd annual Air Quality Bridge Rally! On Saturday, July 23, environmental advocates across the St. Louis region will rally at the base of the McKinley Bridge to fight for cleaner air on both sides of the Mississippi River. The rally marks the second year that environmental, public health, and community advocates have banded together to educate local residents about air quality issues and build local power to ensure progress is made to curb pollution and promote environmental justice.

Register to attend the rally on Saturday, July 23 at 9am!

Across both Illinois and Missouri, decades of environmental racism and disenfranchisement have placed the highest burden of air pollution in low-income communities and communities of color. This environmental injustice has caused disproportionate rates of respiratory health issues and negative public health impacts. At this year's Air Quality Bridge Rally, residents in both states are calling for improvements to the air permitting process in both states. Join us in calling on policymakers in Missouri and Illinois to drive policy change that will create air permitting processes that center environmental justice and accessibility!
