Learn all about guardianship with a free and informational workshop over Zoom on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 3-5 p.m.
Many people think that guardianship is the best way to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities make important decisions, but the truth is that guardianship is often not necessary. In fact, Washington State’s guardianship law requires considering alternatives to guardianship first.
Attorney Jonas Hemenway from Gravis Law is ready to take your questions about guardianship and supported decision-making alternatives to guardianship including informed consent, Representative Payees, joint bank accounts, special needs trusts, power of attorney, and limited vs. full guardianship and guardianship of the estate vs. a guardianship of the person.
This online workshop will also provide basic instructions on how you can apply for guardianship on your own and where you can reach out for legal assistance.
