Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate (3rd Shift , Thursday - Monday)

The Shelter Advocate (3rd Shift , Thursday - Monday) is responsible for provision of services to battered victims and their children that enter the Dove Domestic Violence Program’s Shelter. This position is responsible for shelter coverage starting shift at midnight and ending shift at 8:00 a.m. the following morning, Thursday - Monday. This position is supervised by the Domestic Violence Advocate Supervisor.

Dove-Homeward Bound Housing Advocate

The Housing Advocate is responsible for arranging supportive services for homeless individuals and families who are living in emergency shelters and transitional housing in the Decatur area. Under the direction of the Homeward Bound Client Services Coordinator, the Housing Advocate implements a system for delivery of services to clients in a manner that uses existing resources and that leads to self-sufficiency and permanent housing for clients. Examples of such services include housing, job training, employment, education, budget management, bankruptcy, legal matters, DCFS, personal counseling, independent living skills, health care, parenting skills, and substance abuse treatment.

Coordinated Entry & Outreach Specialist

The Coordinated Entry & Outreach Specialist is responsible for arranging initial supportive services and housing for homeless individuals and families who are homeless. Under the direction of the Macon County CoC Community Resource Coordinator, the Coordinated Entry & Outreach Specialist implements the initial contact system for delivery of services to clients in a manner that uses existing resources and that lead to self-sufficiency and permanent housing for clients. This person is responsible for the initial processing of homeless clients for services within the Macon County Continuum of Care (CoC). This includes such services as: intake, prevention, intervention, housing location, and service coordination and linkage. The Coordinated Entry & Outreach Specialist assures that clients are moved smoothly through the initial application process, and after placement, works with the Client Services Supervising Coordinator and Housing Advocates, and other providers to assure that homeless clients have access to appropriate housing as they move toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) Supervisor -Data System

The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Supervisor ensures the systems are functioning and meeting implementation of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Macon County Continuum of Care procedures. The position will assist in building collaboration between partners to assess households through the process of assessment and connection with housing partners in HMIS. This position will provide program support to the Dove-Homeward Bound staff and HMIS/Coordinated Entry System (CES) through technical training related to file accuracy, data collection and general processes reporting and tracking through HMIS. The HMIS Supervisor will coordinate all HMIS duties including data entry, reporting and other database related duties to ensure the accuracy and timely submission of the data. The HMIS Supervisor will supervise the HMIS Staff. The HMIS Supervisor will be supervised by the Homeward Bound Program Director.

Education & Awareness Specialist
