With our partners, we build strong foundations through programs that empower children and families to lead successful lives.
Teen Empowerment is a one-of-a-kind seven-week summer life skills camp for upcoming 9th through 12th grade students. Participants will explore career and training opportunities that match their interests and aptitudes. Each teen leaves with a post-high school graduate plan at the end of camp.

TEEN EMPOWERMENT SUMMER PROGRAM!
The John Jefferson Youth Empowerment Programs
Youth Empowerment
We believe that children can overcome challenges at home, in school, and in life if we show them the way.
Learning Empowerment
We believe that children need to succeed academically to become independent and self-sufficient adults.
Teen Empowerment
We believe that providing teens with life skills allows them to set themselves on a course for future success.
Reading is a lifelong skill that affects every part of a child’s life and is an indicator of future success. During this 7-week program, volunteers work with children to improve their reading and comprehension skills. The summer reading program is a performance-based incentive program to prevent the “summer slide” that happens when kids are out of school.

K-3rd GRADE
SUMMER READING!
Volunteers are currently needed to assist the Staff and Teachers in our Afterschool Academic Program.
Our academic program supports children and teens with their homework and school assignments so that they are able to comprehend and be confident in their schoolwork. Our program goal is to have our students be above average academically. Students work with staff, teachers, and volunteers, Monday-Thursday, and on Friday we offer special programs that are fun and educational. Our hours are 3:30–5:30 p.m.
