31 miles | Loop from Los Feliz to Encino | Reconnecting with Paayme Paxaayt (LA River) - This ride begins at our usual gathering/starting location for the LA River Ride, but heads towards parts of the LA River that aren’t part of LACBC’s usual route from Griffith Park to Long Beach. We invite you to view a different side of the LA River, starting with its name; Paayme Paxaayt is the indigenous name for the river that is the lifeforce of this region. |
22 miles | Loop starting in Expo Park. Goes through West Athens & Inglewood. | 2021 Black History Ride - By no means a comprehensive telling of Black History in Los Angeles, our 2021 Black History Ride stops include South LA Cafe, Eso Won Books/Ride On! Bike Co-op and other businesses in Leimert Park Plaza, Vincent Park, the site where Sheriff's deputies murdered Dijon Kizzee in 2020, the South LA Wetlands Park and the California African American Museum. |
15 miles | Manhattan Beach to Palos Verdes, along the coast. | Looking at Beach Cities History - This ride starts in Manhattan Beach at one of the last remaining sand dunes in the area. It goes along the coast and ends in Palos Verdes, with the return trip taking you alongside what’s known as the Hermosa Valley Greenbelt. It's mostly flat and takes us along the Santa Monica Bay. |
23 miles | East LA to Glendale & Back | Reflection Ride - This ride visits four historic LA cemeteries and two landmarks that pay homage to those that have called this land home throughout the centuries. Starting at the East LA Civic Center, this route heads west along city streets and starts heading northwest along the LA River Bike Path until the turnaround point at Forest Lawn. This route is meant for riders who are comfortable riding without a bike lane, taking the lane when necessary, and staying vigilant on roads in need of maintenance. |
