Vigil Event Date: Wednesday late afternoon - December 14, 2022

4:30pm - 5:30 pm MT
Event Address: 1373 Grant Street, Denver CO (across from the south side of the Colorado State Capitol)

On December 14th, 2012 twenty-seven innocent lives were taken at Sandy Hook Elementary due to a horrendous act of gun violence. Much to our continued heartbreak, countless other school shootings have followed.

Join together in community with Colorado Ceasefire and Colorado Faith Communities United to End Gun Violence (CFCU) at 4:30 pm on December 14th at the First Baptist Church Denver (1473 Grant Street, Denver CO) to commemorate the many lives that have been unfairly lost due to gun violence.

The event will take place outdoors—close to sunset. Please dress warmly and prepare for possible snowfall. Hot beverages will be provided. Feel free to invite any of your friends, family, or peers to join. This event is completely free and open to the community.

Parking: Free church parking and metered street parking are available (NOTE: Sam is checking on the church parking)

Street Team: Encourage passerbys to join the vigil & potentially engage with unhoused folks

Call to Action Team: Circulate clipboards with calls to action during the event

Banner Team: Shift 1 (hold a banner for the first 20 minutes of the event)

Banner Team: Shift 2 (hold a banner for the last 20 minutes of the event)

Banner Team: Shift 3 (hold a banner for the last 20 minutes of the event)

Beverage Team: Manage and distribute warm drinks

Set Up Team: Arrive at 4:00 to support set up

Break Down Team: Stay 30 minutes after the event to assist with break down

We ask all volunteers to attend a volunteer training on 12/12 at 6:00 at the Posner Center. You may attend this event in person or virtually. Can you attend this event?
