Goal of the Project: The VISTA member in coordination with the Training & Technical Assistance Program Manager to develop a training curriculum that will provide education and training to supportive service staff in the operations of supportive housing and the delivery of evidence-based practice services. In addition, the VISTA Member will work with the Training and Technical Assistance Manager to develop a SOAR new trainee cohort and will support the cohort members through the submission of the first application.

Goal of the Project: Illinois’ Supportive Housing Assessment (ISHA) project is the inaugural report on opportunities and barriers to meeting Illinois supportive housing need. Short-term achievements will be a universal needs objective in the amount of supportive housing available and needed for the housing vulnerable populations in Illinois including persons with substance use disorders. The long-term impact will enable Illinois to develop the amount of supportive housing needed to ensure the housing vulnerable, including the substance use population, can attain housing security. Supportive housing is an evidence-based housing intervention that provides affordable housing and supportive services to those who need them.
