RAHMY: Respectful Abuse-free Humanized Motherhood through Youth-Empowerment – explored Shared Decision Making (SDM) as a tool in Respectful Maternal Care (RMC), to equip different decision-makers and health workers on best practices to improve quality and patient-centered SRHR services for young mothers during COVID-19, and beyond.  Following a successful Webinar in December 2021, YourEgyptianDoula proudly presents several knowledge products.

Patient Centred Care (PCC) has been identified by the World Health Organization as a key aspect in improving the quality of care within an  integrated holistic health systems approach; however, there is limited focus on their application for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) factoring the critical role of youth and young people. Recent United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) data have unveiled gaps in gender equity and  autonomy in SRHR decision-making. Across the Eastern Mediterranean Region, the decision-making power on SRHR, including maternal  health, remains mostly in the hands of men. The intersectional approach of RAHMY project aims to create a tool that can  be easily adapted and applied in similar contexts in developing countries that are working towards providing respectful and inclusive care  for young mothers.
