The Vermont Human Rights Commission presents its 2nd Annual Civil Rights Conference

This year’s theme is Educational Equity – A multi-day gathering  to advance the community’s understanding and practices of a biased free education system.

We will bring together educators, caregivers, students, legislators, education advocates, and community-based organizations to examine the civil rights education issues of our time.  We will dive into the intersection of racism, ableism, and homophobia in education and intentionally center the voices, experiences, and expertise of BIPOC, LGBTIQA, and Disability rights advocates.

We will put our brains together and explore how to transform our schools to get to a vision of hope and liberation for all of our students by

1)  Sharing tools and creating networks

2)  Building a framework for inclusive education and what it would look like in Vermont

3)  Listen to the voices who need to be at the forefront

4)  Create a pathway forward together

Thank you for your interest in the annual Civil Rights Conference.  This year’s conference is held over a few weeks with twelve workshops.
