Reminder – Early Childhood Day at the Legislature Evaluation Survey

Child Care Funding Opportunities

  •  The Department for Children and Families (DCF) is opening a new grant opportunity to assist in  the additional costs associated with COVID-19 to provide care to Vermont’s children. The federal allocation for this grant program is $12.2 million. Monthly allocations will begin in April and run through December for eligible programs. The deadline to apply is March 31.

DCF is hosting a webinar today, March 16, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Use the registration link to sign up. The webinar will be recorded and posted online.

  • The Child Development Division (CDD) is seeking to award a grant to an organization to provide the essential hub components of the Vermont Early Childhood and Afterschool Professional Development System (VT ECPDS). Applications must be received by April 26 at 1:00 pm.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information for Child Care Providers

School staff and child care workers are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Vermont. CDD released an update with some helpful tips on how to sign up. More information can also be found on the Health Department website.

 

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
