Maa Banne Ka Pehla Ehsaas, a Dastangoi performance: Art can be a powerful medium to raise awareness. At the National Meet, India’s first female dastango, Ms. Fouzia, performed a powerful, mesmerizing rendition of a woman’s journey of childbirth as narrated by various women who were part of the What Women Want campaign.

Release of What Women Want India Action Agenda: We celebrated women’s voices and aspirations by highlighting the findings of the What Women Want Campaign. From 2016 to 2019, this campaign led to nearly 3.35 lakh women from 27 states and Union Territories of India articulating what they want from their maternal and reproductive healthcare institutions. This successful campaign, conceptualized in India, went global in 2018, reaching over 1.2 million women worldwide. Vaidya Smita Bajpai, State Coordinator, WRA Rajasthan, released the WWW India Book of Findings that calls for action to ensure that what women want is what women get.

Trailer of God Ki Delivery: Popular playwright, theatre director and producer Mr. Atul Satya Kaushik, released the trailer of his play ‘God ki Delivery’, written and produced with WRAI, encapsulating some of the insights that emerged from the What Women Want campaign and highlighting the struggles a woman faces while giving birth – even if she is giving birth to god. He also called for continued efforts to promote the right to respectful and quality health care in India.

Sharing of What Women Want Global Dashboard: Mr. Harish Chand from World Vision India, a WRAI partner, presented the What Women Want Global Dashboard - an online, interactive data visualization tool that brought together the voices of over 1 million women, including women from India. It offers an unprecedented level of access to women’s demands to allow anyone, anywhere to see exactly what women want when it comes to their healthcare, and be able to meaningfully respond.

Announcing the first-ever #WRAIPhotoContest - Hamara Swasthya, Hamara Adhikar: Ms. Renuka Motihar, member Executive Committee, WRAI, introduced the White Ribbon Alliance India Photo Contest 2021. Inviting amateurs, professionals, or anyone with a phone camera to capture an emotion, interaction, activity around maternal health, a woman seeking services or a service provider delivering them, or even of women at large accessing these health services. Last date of submission of entries - April 30, 2021.
