Help Two Homeless Migrants Move Out Of Their Car

Please help us raise the funds to move Brian and Manuel out of their car and into an apartment! They are Colombian migrants who recently migrated, who are homeless, and living out of their car. We are assisting them in finding steady work in order to fulfill their basic needs, but with a Saint Louis winter approaching we are worried about their health and safety. So we are asking our community to help us get them back on their feet and into a place where they can be safe and healthy. Below is a translated message from Manuel about their situation.
“My name is Manuel and I am writing on behalf of myself and my friend Brian. We are migrants who left Colombia in search of asylum.
To date, we have been residing in Indianapolis, but it was difficult for us to obtain employment, so we moved to St. Louis. Here, we continue to face considerable difficulties, due to language barriers and employers taking advantage of us due to our immigration status. Despite our efforts, we have not yet found a job that allows us to satisfy our basic needs.
With winter approaching, the cold weather has made our situation even more complicated, as we find ourselves sleeping in our car. We have tried to get help, but several shelters have turned us away due to the language barrier and the fact that most of the people who stay at these shelters face problems related to alcohol or drugs. With winter approaching, we are deeply concerned for our safety and well-being. Therefore, with all that said, we request your help and assistance so that we may overcome this difficult situation.”

“Mi nombre es Manuel y estoy escribiendo en representación de mí mismo y de mi compañero Brian, quienes somos migrantes que salimos de Colombia en busca de resguardo.
Hasta la fecha, estuvimos residiendo en Indianápolis, pero en esa ciudad se nos dificulto conseguir un empleo, Actualmente nos encontramos en San Luis, sin embargo, nos hemos enfrentado a dificultades considerables, entre cuales la barrera del idioma ha sido un desafío significativo. Hemos buscado activamente empleo, pero muchos empleadores se han aprovechado de nosotros. A pesar de nuestros esfuerzos, aún no hemos conseguido un empleo que nos permita satisfacer nuestras necesidades básicas.
Durante esta temporada, el clima frío ha hecho que nuestra situación sea aún más complicada, ya que nos encontramos durmiendo en nuestro carro. Hemos intentado encontrar refugio en varios albergues, pero lamentablemente, nos han rechazado debido a la barrera del idioma y al hecho de que la mayoría de las personas que frecuentan estos lugares enfrentan problemas relacionados con el alcohol o las drogas. En vista de la proximidad del invierno, estamos profundamente preocupados por nuestra seguridad y bienestar. Por lo tanto, nos atrevemos a solicitar su ayuda, asistiéndonos de alguna otra manera para poder superar esta difícil etapa.”
