Wind Power: A Big Win for New Jersey2024-02-17T10:14:03-05:00

An average offshore wind farm delivers:

  • 4,000 good-paying jobs
  • $700 million for the NJ economy
  • Billions saved by protecting our homes and businesses from the devastating impact of climate change

As a coastal state, New Jersey faces a severe threat from climate change — like the 30 lives lost and tens of billions in damages after Hurricane Ida. The time to act is now.

Far off the Jersey Shore lies a huge opportunity.  Clean, renewable offshore wind power will create thousands of jobs and generate hundreds of millions worth of investment in New Jersey.  It will also protect our homes and businesses from the ongoing rise in temperatures that, left unchecked, will create even more severe weather events in years to come.

Offshore wind turbines, responsibly developed, will create demand for an extensive supply chain of good green jobs and union labor. This means new opportunities for local businesses and local workers, including low-income and immigrant workers and communities of color. Jersey Renews supports wind power so we can shape our own future: A cleaner, greener, and safer New Jersey.
