Mock 'Funeral for Our Land' to Protest PW Digital Gateway

What: Funeral for Our Land, highlighting what will be lost if the Digital Gateway proposal for 27 million square feet of data centers is approved by the Prince William Board of County Supervisors on November 1^st.

When: Saturday, October 22 at 11 a.m.

Where: Brawner Farm at Manassas Battlefield National Park, 6501 Pageland Lane, Gainesville

National and local activists will gather to mourn the potential loss of rural land directly on the border of Manassas Battlefield National Park. Rev Dr. Jean Wright will lead a prayer. A funeral procession will follow along Pageland Lane.

Visuals include a coffin, tombstones, and the beautiful land, history, and nature at risk.

For activists who want to make signs: 

• Cut posterboard in the shape of a tombstone and honor one of the native trees, animals, etc. on this list. Feel free to add your favorite native plant or animal.
