Prompt: Reflecting on Minoru Yasui’s legacy during the Japanese American redress and reparations movement, create an action plan for a civil rights violation that our country should redress today (to apologize for, to set right).
Redress: [noun] the setting right of what is wrong. [verb] to correct or remedy.
The First Amendment of the U.S. Bill of Rights states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” U.S. Const.
