Alliance Members Working Together – Join Us!

Early childhood organizations, professionals, providers, parents, and employers are working together to improve the lives of Vermont's young children, families and the early childhood workforce. As members of the Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance, these advocates are working to advance a shared early childhood Legislative Agenda using a Collective Impact organizational framework.

“As someone who is at the State House every day, you really can’t get a handle on everything that’s going on, you can’t be everywhere at the same time. One of the real strong points for us to participate in the Alliance is we cover things for each other which is really helpful.”

– Erhard Mahnke, Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition

The Alliance serves as a supporting Backbone Organization for early childhood advocacy. The components of Collective Impact help multi-sector stakeholders work within an organized network to collaborate effectively on solving complex, long-term social problems.

The Alliance's 2019 annual membership cycle is underway – renew your membership or join as an individual, organization, or business today

Check the Alliance website to see if you or your organization is a 2019 member.

“There’s a real strength in having multiple organizations together at the table.”

– Sarah Kenney, Let’s Grow Kids

ECDL 2019 Update and Save the Date for 3/11/2020

Three hundred and fifteen early childhood professionals and providers, parents, employers, and business owners attended Early Childhood Day at the Legislature (ECDL) on March 13, 2019 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel and Vermont State House (click the link for photos and a recap of the day). Seventy participating legislators and administrators had lunch discussions with advocates about ways to invest in kids. Remember to save the date for ECDL 2020 on March 11, 2020!

Many volunteers, lead organizations, members, and co-host and co-sponsor staff helped make this day a success, but we could not have done it without the support of these generous sponsors:

The Vermont Early Childhood Advocacy Alliance is a statewide coalition formed in 2000 of early childhood professionals, parents, organizations, businesses, and strategic partners committed to improving public policies that impact young children between birth and age eight in the areas of health, safety, food security, economic security, and early care and education.

The Alliance crafts an annual Legislative Agenda in partnership with early childhood organizations, provides year-round advocacy support, and facilitates meaningful interactions with policymakers at key times during the decision making process.
