Bringing diverse perspectives into anti-hunger work is critical to affecting meaningful change. To expand the diversity of voices that speak with authority towards this end, we welcome highly motivated candidates - with particular attention to candidates who have experience in communities that are underrepresented in the work to end hunger and poverty and possess a strong commitment to issues of social and racial equity. Hunger Free Vermont is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and welcomes diversity in the workplace and strongly encourages all qualified persons to apply. If you require any accommodations in order to apply, please let us know by contacting us through jobs@hungerfreevt.org or by calling (802) 865-0255.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

We will accept applications on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Interviews will begin the week of June 10, 2024. We are dedicated to responding in a timely manner to everyone who applies and ensuring applicants have a clear understanding of where they are in the process at all times.

  • Our hiring process:

    • Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by our staff using a screening rubric.

    • Our Chief of People & Operations will reach out to schedule a short interview, via phone or over Zoom (applicant’s preference).

    • Applicants who advance to an interview with the full four-person hiring team will have the opportunity to interview in person at our office in South Burlington or over Zoom.

    • The Chief of People & Operations and the Hiring Team will offer interview times during the HFVT work day (9-4 pm EST) as well as make some time available outside of our regular working hours for those who only have weeknight availability. If you need other times made available, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

    • Finalists may be invited for a second interview with the hiring team, joined by our Executive Director, ideally at our office in South Burlington. If your hiring process involves any type of at-home assignment, you will be compensated for your preparation time.

    • Due to the decision-making authority vested in a director role, the hiring process for these positions may have additional steps. HFVT has not hired at the director level outside the organization in over ten years. We are committed to a process that works for candidates and allows for input from current staff. There might be different teams conducting interviews, there might be time tacked on to meet with a wider group of program staff for casual conversations. If additional steps are needed beyond our normal hiring process, compensation will be provided for your time.
