Sportsmen and Women Gather at Childress Vineyards to Celebrate Conservation During Annual Wine, Wheels & Wildlife Event

October 13, 2022 (Lexington, North Carolina) – Yesterday, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation returned to central North Carolina for the 18th year in a row to host the Annual Wine, Wheels & Wildlife event in partnership with NASCAR Hall of Famer and CSF Board of Directors Vice-Chair Richard Childress.

The event, hosted at Childress Vineyards in scenic Lexington, North Carolina, brought together leaders from the sporting-conservation community including federal and state legislators, advocacy partners, industry allies, and NASCAR representatives. With fall in the air, attendees gathered to celebrate and support CSF’s leadership on behalf of America’s sportsmen and women.

“For almost 20 years, I have been hosting Wine, Wheels & Wildlife with CSF to benefit wildlife conservation as a whole and CSF specifically,” said Richard Childress, Chairman and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. “The sportsmen and women of CSF work every day to protect and promote the outdoor heritage that I hold so dear, and it’s important that we as hunters and anglers do our part to support their efforts on our behalf.”

Throughout the evening, attendees were addressed by Co-Chair of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus Representative Richard Hudson, Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus Member Representative Ted Budd, and North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson.

““As a Co-Chair of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, I know how important it is for America’s 55 million sportsmen and women to have a seat at the table. The Caucus has been influential in advancing outdoor policy this Congress, but we must remain steadfast in our commitment to preserving our values and the outdoors for future generations of sportsmen and women,” said Representative Hudson.

During the event, Bass Pro Shops Founder and CEO Johnny Morris was announced as the inaugural recipient of CSF’s Honorary Life Director distinction. For decades, Bass Pro Shops has been one of CSF’s strongest partners, providing support on numerous fronts. Since his 1988 appointment to the Board of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation by President Reagan, to his establishment of the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium in 2017, Johnny Morris has served as an ambassador for the sporting-conservation community, embodying the spirit of America’s original conservationists.

"For more than 30 years, CSF has been the nation’s leading authority in developing and defending legislation that protects and advances our outdoor traditions,” said CSF President and CEO Jeff Crane. “Every year, Wine, Wheels & Wildlife provides a unique opportunity to bring together the sporting-conservation community to learn about CSF’s critical role in the sportsmen’s policy arena, from the State Capitol in Raleigh to the halls of Congress. On behalf of CSF and our Mission Partners, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Richard Childress, who is not only generous enough to host this event but continues to be one of the most impactful supporters of our nation’s outdoor heritage.”

CSF would like to extend thanks to all the sponsors who made this event possible. Title Sponsors include Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, Childress Vineyards, The National Shooting Sports Foundation, and Richard Childress Racing. Host Sponsors include Ecentria, Hornady, Safari Club International, Shimano, and Vista Outdoor.
