$5.5 billion plan to reduce congestion at LAX gets green light




"After a special joint session, the Los Angeles City Planning Commission and the Board of Airport Commissioners on Thursday both signed off on a $5.5 billion plan to reduce auto traffic and congestion at Los Angeles International Airport." Hard to imagine reduced traffic with an increase in car rentals that will see a rental driven out every 2 seconds 🥴


This plan also claims to improve the airport experience for cyclists and pedestrians by creating new intermodal transportation facilities.



Metro and Caltrans 605 Freeway Valley Boulevard Project


Just what we need: more highway for more cars! The Metro board Planning Committee signed off on parts of a freeway expansion project: the I-605 at Valley Boulevard Interchange Improvements Project. New lanes alert!


"The lanes were announced by the community’s City Councilmember Mike Bonin via social media. Bonin noted that they were installed as part of street repaving. The added bike lanes did not remove any existing car lanes or car parking, but were added in place of an existing striped-off margin."
