Volunteer Backcountry Stewardship Week Eagle Creek

Join Friends of the Inyo and the Bridgeport Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest for a spectacular three days of stewardship in Mono County. We’ll be working to monitor weed species in the Eagle Creek drainage, and we’ll also save plenty of time for hiking, sharing stories, and enjoying a beautiful place.

Trip dates are June 21-23 2021

We’ll meet in Bridgeport on Monday, June 21 for  a morning of introductions and a bit of training on how we will be monitoring for weeds (identifying and marking prevalence in the wilderness) with GPS units. We’ll head to the Buckeye Creek Trailhead and hike to camp after noon.
Tuesday will have the group perform the weeds monitoring and other work in the Eagle Creek area. After a long day of work (with lots of snack and view breaks of course!) we’ll sleep well under the incomparable stars of the Humboldt-Toiyabe NF.
Wednesday will be a mellow day, waking and packing up for the hike out. We will expect to be back at the trailhead around noon.

Participants are responsible for all their own gear and food. Friends of the Inyo provides itinerary, expertise, and a one of a kind experience!
