GMA digital video and audio head selected as board member of AAJA-Asia

The head of GMA Network's Digital Video and Audio Lab has been named a board member of the Asian American Journalists Association-Asia (AAJA-Asia).

Bernice Sibucao, one of the youngest managers of the Kapuso Network, was selected as secretary after a chapter-wide nomination and voting process. She will serve a two-year term.

“Her pioneering team has positioned GMA’s News and Public Affairs Division as a major player in digital with innovative programs and production strategies that drove billions of viewership and helped reach new audiences in emerging platforms,” the organization said in it website.

Prior to heading the network’s first and only digital video and audio lab, Sibucao served as the Assistant Manager of GMA News and Public Affairs’ Social Media Team. She helped build an impressive and wide-reaching presence for the department’s online platforms.

Sibucao is an Ateneo De Manila University communications and magna cum laude graduate.

Aside from her new title as secretary of the board, she is also a fellow of the first joint US-Asia cohort of AAJA’s 25th Executive Leadership Program, a recipient of the Dinah Eng Leadership Fellowship 2022, and the only Filipino fellow chosen for The Poynter Institute’s September Leadership Academy for Women in Media. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
