| | | | | | The Alliance Structure: A Common Agenda in a Collective Impact Framework The Alliance publishes our Legislative Agenda each year as a common agenda shared by the early childhood community. This document helps us focus on specific asks for policy change or investment. The process we use to create it is the critical element of the coalition’s decision-making structure for all legislative strategy. This shared agenda is one of five components of a Collective Impact framework, which we use because it helps multi-sector stakeholders to collaborate more, and more effectively, on solving complex social problems. The Alliance’s use of the Collective Impact framework was highlighted at our Annual Membership Meeting last month, where Representative Theresa Wood said, “We refer to the Alliance when we talk about the effectiveness of organizations coming together.” Stay tuned for more information on each of the components of Collective Impact, as they relate to the Alliance’s work, in upcoming newsletters. | | | | | | Invite Legislators to Your Summer Events This week marks the official start of summer and the season is a great time to connect with your legislator about early childhood. You can find legislator contact information here. | | | | | | Early Childhood Educators Institute 2019 Coordinated by Castleton University July 22 through 25, 2019, at Castleton University The Early Childhood Educators Institute is for family child care providers, center- or school-based early childhood or primary teachers, special educators, home visitors or related service/CIS personnel. The Institute consists of fourteen sessions, with the options to receive a certificate of completion for 32 professional development hours or extend learning with fourteen hybrid courses. Courses may be taken for graduate or undergraduate credit or count toward required professional development hours.
