Volunteers at Wheeler Gorge Visitor Center work in a beautiful setting in the heart of Los Padres National Forest.

A nature center 15 minutes north of Ojai is seeking volunteers to help staff the center on Saturdays.

The nonprofit Wheeler Gorge Visitor Center, 17017 Maricopa Highway, needs a couple of volunteers to work a shift from either 9 a.m. to noon or noon to 3 p.m., according to Gordie Hemphill, center director and president of the Ojai Chapter of Los Padres Forest Association, which operates the center.
