PRI in the Media

Politically Incorrect Guide to Pandemics: PRI President Steven Mosher has been working on a new book to be released in 2022, titled The Politically Incorrect Guide to Pandemics. The book will explore China’s involvement in past and future pandemics. With China now expanding their biosecurity research and building new facilities, their role in future pandemics may be a large and dangerous one. Read Here.

Misinformation Media: Misleading media outlets have played a significant part throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. Writer Randy Baron examined the consequences that the many instances of censoring the truth may have caused. He included the ban of Steven Mosher’s column that speculated the lab leak theory early in 2020. Read Here.

Decade of Death: In this phone interview for the Church Militant, Steven Mosher delved into China’s decade of death between 1979 and 1989. He was an eyewitness in China to the start of the One-Child policy which marked the beginning of this era. The end of this decade was marked by the events of Tiananmen Square, but the CCP continued on their bloody path that led to today. Watch Here.

Communism Continues: PRI President Steven Mosher was consulted for Church Militant’s piece on the effects of Communism on all those that reside in China. He described that under the CCP, “A million to a million-and-a-half Uighur men, in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s, are locked up and forced to do slave labor inside the labor camps.” Watch Here.

Demography is Destiny

Growth Grinds to a Stop: Population growth in the United States has been slowing for years. This trend was exacerbated by the recent pandemic. In response to this issue raised by the Wall Street Journal, popular innovator Elon Musk recently tweeted, “Population collapse is potentially the greatest risk to the future of civilization.” Read Here.

Declining Birthrate, Rising Debt: The COVID-19 baby bust has contributed to the overall drop in fertility rates occurring in the past decade. However it also has an economic effect. The future generation grows smaller as the debt that will rest on their shoulders grows. Countering this issue would require the current administration to rein in federal spending, rather than increase expenditures.  Read Here.

“The more money the state takes from young couples, the fewer children they are going to have,” says Mr. Mosher.  “We have to shelter young couples who are willing to have children from the exactions of the state, because they are providing for the future of the United States in the most fundamental way: by providing the future generations of Americans.”

Communist China

Nuclear Construction: China has started construction on 250 nuclear missile silos. This undertaking was described by Newsweek as the “most extensive construction effort since the Cold War.” Read Here.

“Since this report came out, a new base with another 100-plus silos has been discovered under construction,” says Mr. Mosher.  “The Chinese Communist Party will have increased its missile silos tenfold.  This is worrisome, but equally worrisome is the construction of 91 more bio-labs that may be used to produce not nuclear weapons, but bioweapons similar to Covid-19.”

Pro-Life Around the World

Veracruz Decriminalizes Abortion: Lawmakers in Veracruz, Mexico overwhelmingly approved a bill that decriminalizes abortion during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. This followed a similar move made in Hidalgo two weeks prior. Read Here.

“Over the years, PRI has worked with many Pro-Life groups in Mexico through our regional office for Latin America based in Lima, Peru,” says Mr. Mosher. “We have trained and educated pro-life volunteers, and helped to develop legislative strategies. The new bill in Vera Cruz is a disappointment, but the Mexican people remain staunchly Pro-Life and we will continue to assist them in their fight for Life.”

IPPF Sues over Funding: The International Planned Parenthood Foundation has announced their intention to “launch legal action against the UK Government regarding its decision to cut its foreign aid budget.” These budget cuts occurred two weeks beforehand, when MPs voted in favour of cutting this aid from 0.7 to 0.5 per cent of national income. Read Here.

Pro-Life on the Home Front

Reversing Roe v. Wade: Last week, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Finch made the argument for overturning Roe v. Wade in an initial legal brief for the case accepted in May. According to CatholicVote this case “raised the question of whether Mississippi could enact a ban on abortions after 15 weeks.” Now it could significantly impact nationwide abortion policy. Read Here.

Chemical Abortions on Campus: Pro-Life lawmakers recently introduced a bill to “defund public colleges and universities that perform abortions or offer the abortion pill.” This occurred in response to California’s legislation requiring public campus clinics to offer abortion pills starting in 2023. Read Here.

Good News

Pro-Life Messages Spread: A Catholic Pro-Life group in Canada, Life Compass, has been spreading life-affirming messages through TransLink buses. These life-saving ads spread encouraging messages, such as “You’re stronger than you think.” Read Here.

Quote of the Week:

“The Scriptures speak about the wonder, awe and beauty of life in the womb. The Bible speaks of children as a blessing. In fact, fruitfulness is recognized as a great gift from God.”
