Dear Friends,

It is great to be back from my sabbatical, writing to you all today.

Last week, charter public school supporters from all across Massachusetts came together to raise our voices in support of our students and our schools. Time and time again throughout the week, I was amazed by the power and passion of our mighty community. Together, we made tremendous progress toward ensuring that our state legislators recognize the value of our schools and the potential our children possess.

We came together.

We began the week as a powerful coalition of 500 charter public school families, faculty, alumni, and supporters. By the end of the week, thanks to continuous efforts to invite others to join us, our group had doubled in size.

We advocated.

Together, we reached an impressive 82% of MA legislators through our outreach efforts, including a robust email campaign, virtual meetings, and in-person school visits.

We shared our stories.

Our community members shared powerful stories of the tremendous impact of our state's charter public schools

We committed to continue to advocate beyond this incredible week.

Of course, while our formal Advocacy Week has concluded, our work to educate and engage our elected leaders is not over! Every child has unlimited potential. Every child deserves equal opportunity and equal access to a high-quality public education and the resources needed to thrive. We stand firm in our commitment to continuing to raise our voices for students every single day.

We are truly grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s Advocacy Week such a success. We look forward to continuing to advocate, together, on behalf of our children!

Gratefully,

Executive Director, Massachusetts Charter Public School Association
