Earth Day Action Alert
We need you to Defend Our Climate

Earth Day 2024 - Climate Solutions Now

This Earth Day, we celebrate President Biden’s climate and clean energy plan and his transformative actions to cut climate pollution and turbocharge our clean energy transition. President Biden secured the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), making the largest investment in climate action and clean energy – ever.

Across America, businesses and communities are benefiting from the investments provided in the Inflation Reduction Act.

President Biden’s climate and clean energy plan has delivered $478 billion in investments throughout America and sparked $688 billion in additional private sector investments in clean energy – creating more than 270,000 new jobs and lowering energy costs for families.

While we celebrate this significant progress, we know that more must be done to meet the President’s goal of slashing climate pollution in half by 2030.

We need to finalize bold solutions for pollution. We need more investments in the clean energy economy and the workforce needed to make this transformation a reality.

We need Climate Solutions Now.

Sign the petition below to make your voice heard.

Dear Member of Congress,

Under the bold leadership of the Biden Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and every Member of Congress who led the fight to pass the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)–the largest climate investment in American history–we have made significant progress on climate. This includes stronger standards that will reduce harmful pollution driving climate change, including pollution from power plants, vehicles, and soot sources.

But this progress is under attack.

Big polluters and their allies, including the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the US Chamber of Commerce, and those looking out for their special interests in Congress, are working tirelessly to dismantle this progress. Under Republican leadership, the House has voted 31 times to repeal or cut the Inflation Reduction Act, which includes the largest climate investments in American history. They have also threatened to slash climate-smart agriculture investments in the Farm Bill, and have attempted to use the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn EPA protections and other important standards from across the Administration that limit pollution, clean up our air, and improve our health.

We must stand up to defend our climate.

That’s why we’re calling on you, our leaders in Congress, to stand up to attacks by big polluters and their allies. Please Defend Our Climate by:

  • Blocking efforts to roll back investments in our communities and in clean energy jobs passed under the Inflation Reduction Act
  • Opposing CRAs that aim to repeal limits on pollutants from power plants, cars, trucks, and harmful pollutants
  • Protecting the climate-smart ag investments in the Farm Bill
  • Saying NO to efforts to cut critical funding to combat climate change in the federal budget

We need you to Defend Our Climate.

Take Action
Protect Climate Risk Transparency for Investors

Last month, the SEC released its final rule requiring large, publicly traded companies to disclose their direct greenhouse gas emissions and the impact of severe weather and other natural disasters on their businesses. Investors need this information to make informed choices and meet their fiduciary obligations to the people whose money and retirement savings they manage.

Clean Energy Victory Bonds

With the US and countries around the world experiencing their hottest years on record and growing natural disasters causing billions of dollars of damage in the US alone, support among the American public for a transition to renewable energy technologies is strong. Eighty percent of Americans support a move to solar and wind, and over two-thirds of the public calling on the US Government to do more.
