Who We Are

VTAEYC is the state’s largest membership organization for early childhood educators and the state affiliate of NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children. As a nonprofit organization formed by a grassroots effort over 50 years ago and now with 500+ members, VTAEYC offers professional development, workforce development programs, and quality supports. With a growing staff, a dedicated board, and a collaborative approach, VTAEYC aims to meet the needs of today’s ECE workforce and programs and create a stronger, more equitable early childhood education system for the future.

Higher Education Outreach Coordinator

Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Higher Education Outreach Coordinator. In this temporary position, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and co-facilitating meetings within the Vermont Higher Education Early Childhood Education Consortium. The primary focus will be on conducting in-depth analyses of higher education preparation programs for early childhood education, identifying alignment and needs, and using this information to inform recruitment strategies.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Consortium Facilitation: Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings of the Vermont Early Childhood Higher Education Education Consortium.
  • Analysis of Higher Education Programs: Conduct comprehensive analyses of various higher education preparation programs for early childhood education.
  • Alignment and Needs Assessment: Identify areas of alignment and common needs among higher education programs within the consortium.
  • Recruitment Strategy Development: Utilize analysis results to inform the development of targeted recruitment strategies for prospective students.

ECE Program Assessment Specialist

VTAEYC is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Early Childhood Education Program Assessment Specialists for the newly created Vermont System for Program Access to Resources for Quality Supports (SPARQS).

In this role, you will report to the Associate Director for ECE Program Quality. You’ll conduct confidential, timely, valid, and reliable unscored consultation and scored assessments using state-approved program assessment tools for regulated infant, toddler, preschool, and afterschool programs for the STARS Program Assessment System. Ideal candidates will have direct knowledge of approved STars Assessment tools, including CLASS.

ECE Program Quality Support Specialist

VTAEYC is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Education Program Quality Support Specialist (QSS) for the expanding SPARQS Program.

Reporting to the Associate Director for ECE Program Quality, you’ll provide consultation, coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance in continuous quality improvement to regulated early childhood and afterschool programs and Vermont Early Childhood Networks.

While primarily providing phone, virtual, and in-person coaching, technical assistance, and mentoring for all the different types of regulated programs in one assigned region, QSS staff will together serve the entire state.

ECE Professional Development Specialist

VTAEYC is seeking a a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Professional Development Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing exceptional customer service, coordinating events, and managing relationships with partner organizations. The Professional Development Specialist will play a crucial role in coordinating high-quality professional development opportunities for regional and statewide early childhood educator networks, programs and the VTAEYC Annual Conference.

ECE Workforce Development Manager

VTAEYC is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an ECE Workforce Development Manager.

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and execute a comprehensive early childhood educator recruitment strategy. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating, publishing, and distributing informational and educational materials aimed at promoting child care as a rewarding career choice. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, higher education organizations, the child care field, and early childhood educators to expand the recruitment pool and enhance awareness. This position also entails guiding Early Childhood Educators through VTAEYC programs on an individual basis.
