CASA announces partnership with EID Consultant MelindaJoy Mingo

CASA of the Pikes Peak Region is pleased to announce a new partnership with Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) Consultant MelindaJoy Mingo.

With over 15 years of national and international experience coaching organizations in effective EID workplace practices, Ms. Mingo brings a wealth of knowledge which will be instrumental to CASA’s EID initiatives.

“Here at CASA, we want to embrace inclusion in a way that makes everyone, no matter what diversity they bring, feel included as part of our organization.” said Executive Director Angela Rose. “MelindaJoy Mingo is a wonderful fit for our organization and I am thrilled to have her on board as we continue to grow and move forward together.”

The consulting agreement began in September of 2021 and will run through September of 2022. Areas where MelindaJoy will focus her consulting include hiring policies; National CASA Standards; organizational assessment; and training and resources for CASA staff, board, and volunteers.

In addition to her EID and life coaching consulting work, Ms. Mingo is a co-director for The Equity Project at Pikes Peak Community College. She is also a professor at several higher education institutions and specializes in teaching Human Resource Management, Employment Law and Communication courses.

Her roles in higher education have also included a six year partnership as a business developer with the Vietnamese Business owners and at Hanoi International University in Vietnam. Closer to home, MelindaJoy has provided consulting for organizations such as Leadership Pikes Peak, the Denver Sheriff’s Department, Department of Health and Human Services, the Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff’s Department, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Pueblo School District, Colorado Volunteer Association, Colorado Springs School Districts 11 and District 2, as well as various other government and non-profit organizations.

“CASA provides an invaluable service to our community and its mission is near and dear to my heart,” said MelindaJoy Mingo. “I am so excited to partner with this wonderful organization as they continue with both intentionality and vision to improve equity, inclusion, and diversity initiatives with the mission of changing the lives of each and every vulnerable child in the Pikes Peak Region.”
