Taj Mahal should be renamed to Ram Mahal or Shivaji Mahal: BJP MLA

Stoking a new controversy, BJP MLA Surendra Singh today said that roads and monuments named after Mughal Emperors should be renamed. When asked what should Taj Mahal be renamed to he said, "Make it Shivaji Mahal or Ram Mahal or Krishna Mahal."
Surendra Singh has been wedged in controversy earlier as well when he claimed that "prostitutes are better than Government officials."

Talking to reports about monuments built by Mughals, Surendra Singh said, "These should not be destroyed because they have been made from the Indian soil. The names should be changed." He added, "If given a chance I would name it Rashtra-bhakht Mahal."

Singh who is a BJP MLA from Bairia said, "A place if named after a Mughal Emperor stink but if the same place is renamed after Dr. Abdul Kalam then its fragrance does wonders."

Earlier Singh had asked the people to give Ghoosa (Punch) instead of Ghoos (bribe). The BJP lawmaker has in the past, compared West Bengal Chief Minister to Tarkasur, a hindu mythology daemon.
