Please join us in our first ever CMEP virtual fundraising event - we're embracing and continuing our spring theme of "Hope Grows: Seeds planted. Future promise." and asking our supporters to get outdoors and "Play for Peace."
Our staff has grown and our networks are more extensive than ever and each of you have humbled us time and again with your generosity.
We are asking our supporters to raise funds for CMEP by participating in outdoor experiences May 15 - June 3 in a "Dollars-for-Minutes" style challenge.
You'll commit to doing something you enjoy outside: hiking, cycling, taking pictures of nature, visiting parks, etc. - - and you'll ask your friends, family, and others to donate to Churches for Middle East Peace in support of your Play for Peace goal.
This event is similar to a standard fundraising 5k, but rather than running 5 kilometers, we’re asking you to spend some time outdoors playing and praying for peace and thinking and sharing about the realities of people in the Middle East with your fundraising supporters.
This goal tracker is tracking all donations to CMEP's 2022 Spring Campaign - of which these Play For Peace fundraisers are one part. You can make a donation to one of the fundraisers below or by using the donate button above to help us reach our ambitious goal!
Getting Started
You're filling in the blanks in this basic sentence with something you can commit to doing:
You set the goals and the activity! You know what works for your schedule, capabilities, and your motivation to fundraise. Everyone may participate, no matter your ability or enthusiasm.
While you are outside playing, moving, and/or being creative, we hope you'll also be intentional to pray for peace and that you would share anything you reflected on, were inspired by, or convicted of from that time with us later.
Important: Your commitment does not have to be accomplished all at once! Registration to participate opens in Mid-April and the "challenge" will take place between May 15-June 3. You could plan to put in a few minutes a day, longer stretches on weekend days, or one big chunk if that's your preference! More on those plans and an optional social media component below.
Some examples - feel free to use these, modify them, or create your own!
Anyone over the age of 18 can sign up to Play for Peace between May 15 and June 3. You'll create a personal fundraising page with your name, photo, fundraising goals, and a bit about why you support CMEP. Then you can share your page with others to start collecting donations!
You can keep up with the amounts raised on your personal page or on the leaderboard here (see below). As appropriate, re-share your fundraiser on your social media or with friends and family via email or text. Most people will appreciate a reminder - or two!
Between May 15 and June 3: Get outside and complete your activity for as many minutes as you had committed to and let your supporters (and CMEP!) know how you are doing by sharing pictures or updates from your play. Share these updates on social Media using #CMEPOutside and #PlayforPeace. Look for others on the hashtag and cheer everyone on! What you post might be:
Are you unable to commit to fundraising at this time but would still like to support the fundraising effort? You can donate below to any of those who are participating or via the main donate page by clicking the button below.
